‘Happy Go Lucky’
Release date: Weds Feb 29, 2012

‘Happy Go Lucky’ is the new single by Annette Buckley, a spring-summoning song set for
release on Feb 29th. Think Billie Holiday and Bjork, and you’ll get some idea of Annette’s
unique vocal dexterity on a tune sprinkled
with sunbeams.

If Cork kept a secret, Annette Buckley might be that gem. However, by opening for artists
such as Imelda May, Florence & the Machine, The Magic Numbers, Villagers, Lisa Hannigan
and Duke Special, Annette has seeped into the wider consciousness to become a respected
vocalist and songwriter.

Her debut album ‘The Ever Changing Colours of the Sea’ earned her glowing reviews in the
Irish music press with an 8.5/10 from Hotpress Magazine and featured on HMV’s definitive
collection of Ireland’s best new music.

A keen collaborator and instigator of many diverse musical projects; she recently recorded a
duet of her song ‘Whirlwind’ with UK singer/songwriter Jamie Lawson, and has taken vocal
duties on music by influential Irish instrumentalists Rest. Her recent video for her version
of Joy Division’s classic, ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ features a stunning cameo from The Frank
& Walter’s Paul Linehan.

Unafraid of changing creative direction, the last few years have seen Annette make her acting
debut. Involved in a number of plays and productions for theatre which toured several national
and international festivals, Annette then went on to play the role of Movita in a docu-drama about
Irish boxer Jack Doyle for RTE.

‘Happy Go Lucky’ brings some of Annette’s pop sensibilities to the fore, using her dynamic vocal
range and not losing sight of a what makes a truly well-crafted song.

“Buckley’s beautiful voice does justice to her evocative lyrics”

“One of Cork’s most accomplished singer/songwriters.”

“Annette Buckley is back where she belongs, with her haunting, deeply original songs.”
