Biography

Annette Buckley, who is no stranger to the Cork live scene, recieved rave reviews after releasng her debut album "the ever changing colours of the sea", with 8.5/10 in HOTPRESS.

 

Her song "whirlwind" featured on HMV's playlist album as well as other acts such as Duke Special, Altan and The Walls.

 

She combines luscious vocals with great piano playing, think Bjork fused with Billie Holiday and you get a sense of her vocal dexterity and quirkiness.

 

Her warm vocals captivates the audience and draws them into the visual imagery of her songs.

 

She has collaborated with many Cork bands including Rest, Green Monitor, Stanley Super 800, Singer/Songwriter Ger Wolfe and Eoin Coughlan.

 

Annette has also opened for Ryan Adams, Maria Mckee, Duke Special, Damien Dempsey, Declan O' Rourke, The 4 of us, Juliet Turner, John Spillane, Erin Mckweon, Ben Taylor and the legendary Soft Boys.

 

A Jazz Singer (having performed in the Cork Jazz Festival in 2007) and an Actress in her own right, Annette is currently working on her next release.
